As we all know buying a gun online doesn't get you out of the instant background check. The place that sells the gun online ships it to a FFL holder who runs the check prior to transferring (for a fee) the gun to you.
Of course when has a little matter of factual accuracy mattered to a leftist?

You seem to leave out the fact that the 63 officers killed by firearms were killed by criminals. For that we can thank our liberal catch and release (no)justice system.
The gun hating Mayor Bloomberg continues to blame the law abiding gun owners for the actions of criminals. He would have us live in a police state where only the police and military are allowed to own guns. No thank you. It seems that all of the "reasonable" gun control the haters want involves the complete disarmament of the law abiding yet never addresses the criminal in any way. Here's a great idea, catch a criminal using a gun, lock him/her up forever. They have proven, usually many times, they can not be trusted to live in polite society.
Your claim that you can buy a gun online without a background check is totally false. As a gun dealer, I do internet transfers for a very large customer base. If you go to any of the gun auction web sites it is stated plainly that all transactions must be completed through a licensed dealer. A little research can be a good thing.
Finally, private sales. Why is it anyone's business what I do with property I own. I can sell my personal weapons witho9ut a background check. However, It is against federal law to sell a firearm to anyone you suspect might be prohibited. Again, research.

You aren't quite right. At least five of them were accidental, and we don't know how many where friendly fire related rather than being shot by criminals. They may have been killed with firearms, but a not insignificant number of those would have not been felonious killings.
