What this is all leading up to is evident: Now that ATF is saying straw purchasers are altering their behavior, expect that to be used as justification to expand this requirement to all the states. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report looks at a camel's nose under the tent.

To the extent we are ignored, I have a hard time believing there are 100 million gun owners in this country. Or 90, or 80, or even 70.
To Fred H. Watkins:
What number do you believe, and how do you justify that number ?

To bassett,
I don't think it really matters which number I believe is correct. Any group of a size to be counted in the multiple ten's of millions, whether it be 70 million or a hundred million or even only 50 million, is a large group that ought to not be ignored, politically speaking, that is.
By contrast, all of the members and associates of the congregate pro-gun control groups can't even match in numbers the number of NRA members,(now about four million) yet alone the number of gun owners, yet they seem to have political influence far in excess that their number would indicate.
How many gun owners are there in this country? I don't know. With the exception of 90 million I've heard all of them, 100, 80 and 70 million over the years in the media at large. Where do you think we ought to put the mark on the number line?
To Frederick H. Watkins
Lets put all of the marks in the ballot box, one last time.
