Yeah, and with a $2 file from Wal-Mart you can defeat their technology in a few seconds.
I read the article and too many comments. Lame and wrong, most of them. Unless you have the casings and the weapon, you can't show that a particular weapon ejected a particular casing.
Even proving that much isn't going to work in court. How do you know a bullet from that weapon came out of that casing and entered the victim?
I can't believe there are so many stupid people out there. I suppose we should be thankful they are concentrated in NYC.
Even if the tech did work, there are how many hundreds of millions of guns already out here that will not mark the cases?
