They have the means to provide for themselves, but I doubt that they have the will. To some, effective self defense is "uncivilized". To some, to be unwilling and willfully unable to defend yourself justifies the outcome that ensues. Sometimes you need to get your hands dirty - to defend yourself and to feed yourself. Your choice is to stand on your feet and fight, or die on your knees.

Would I? Hell no! they made their bed. They allowed themselves to be disarmed; to be turned into sheep. It is possible to be too civilized. I believe it was Franklin who said that those who beat their swords into plowshares will end up plowing for those who kept their swords.

As for sharia here;

Bullets before Burqahs
Pistols before prayer rugs.
Shot guns before Sharia.
Rifles before Ramadan.
