You mean a person who was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence after he entered a guilty plea to slapping his wife 40 years ago can actually legally purchase a steak knife? Do Bloomberg and Lautenberg know about this? What the hell is this world coming to?

My gawd! I've carried a pocketknife since before I was 4 years old. I've used pocket knives for everything from skinning snakes, emergency screwdrivers, cleaning my fingernails, and even upon a couple of occasions, along with a couple of shots of strong whiskey, getting rid of a pesky painful wisdom tooth. I've never considered the implement as a weapon.
