PULL!

State Police are investigating the incident. [More]
We have no idea. The shot we heard sounded like it came from the direction of the SHARKs.  And if they really were using a "rifle," you'd better get 'em the hell out of here.

Speaking of drones, I don't see these freaks on Charity Navigator, but did find them on Guidestar.  It merits a closer look if I can find the time.

I'm admittedly not a ballistics expert, but to my eye, the damage in the photos looks more like the battery failed (swollen and burst into flame) and the whole thing landed on the camera. There's no indication in the photos of any peppering from birdshot, nor any evidence of a bullet strike. Also, from what we can see of the airframe, it looks otherwise undamaged. Methinks Occam's Razor applies.

While reading the news piece, I went to the SHARK site to see what they are about. HOLY COW!! Those people could give the nut cases at PETA loony lessons! Those people are so far out there they're about to circle back!!!

Looks like the 10 gau may not be obsolete after all. Maybe it could be the weapon of choice for anti-small-RPV activity. Have to be easier to aim than a Barrett (although not nearly as pretty) and a whole lot less expensive. Have to make sure you're not on camera when you fire on the drone. I don't reckon the "Only Ones" would be any too tickled if some "insurrectionist types" took to shooting down their expensive peeping-tom toys.
