My gun permit is public record. It is right there between the First and Third Amendments.

Another reinforcing argument for Vermont-style Constitutional Carry, where no government issued licenses or permits are required to acquire, keep and bear arms, openly or concealed. The only list you really need to maintain is the one for the convicted felons, mental defectives, and substance (drug and alcohol) abusers who are prohibited by Federal law from possessing a firearm. That list is definitely more interesting.
