It's funny to see these J-school grads use "preventative." The word is properly, "preventive." My college term paper had each use of "preventative" corrected in red ink, and since it was a paper on "preventive detention" there were a lot of corrections. Looks like the editor's knowledge of spelling is as poor as his grasp of logic.
