Should you carry a concealed handgun into a bank?

Why, does something magical happen when you enter their premises? [More]

To paraphrase Willie Sutton:

Yes, 'cause that's where the bank robbers are!

A funny story. We finally saved up enough to buy a new car cash. I went to the bank, armed of course, to get a cashier's check for the balance due. I had it written on a slip of paper so I wouldn't screw it up. At the teller's desk I told her I needed a cashier's check as I pushed the note with the amount toward her. I immediately saw in my peripheral vision the manager making a beeline to the desk - probably thought I was robbing the joint. When he realized I wasn't he stayed and chatted while the teller did the paperwork. She asked for ID and I gave her my DL. Then she said she needed another ID since the amount was large and I showed her my concealed carry permit. Manager and Teller's eyes got large but they went on w/business and small talk until the check was prepared. As the teller handed me the check the manager said "I was going to walk you out and give you a lecture about being careful carrying that large check but I guess I don't need to..." LOL!

Can't. Huntington has a metal detector and the door locks on you if you try. Asked about cops one day who forget. They flash their badges and all is well. Do most of my biz at the ATM.

I've carried concealed into the bank a few times, but usually go in OC. Nobody pays any attention, usually, but I have had people ask what I'm carrying and if I like it. And that includes tellers and the bank manager. Oh, he carries openly often too. LOL

When I lived in a freer state than Texas, I used to carry both openly and concealed in the bank. Here in Texas, since the sheep are so afraid of seeing a gun on the hip unless it's carried by a gang member in blue... well...
Cowardice really sticks in my craw.
