I sure would like to see the VPC and similar "gun violence" hand-wringers differentiate between good and bad shootings. A bad guy shooting a good guy is certainly a negative, but a good guy justifiably shooting a bad guy is just as certainly a positive. Using this method, if a particular reporting area had 10 positives and 10 negatives, their net "gun violence" score would be a zero.
