Oh, for heaven’s sake, let him join, and waste his time barking up the wrong tree for a year or two. Any pro-rights activist who knows what’s what knows that the power doesn’t emanate out of Fairfax, it emanates out of the grassroots of America. Disrupting the American gun rights movement by Infiltrating the NRA is like disrupting America’s military defense capabilities by infiltrating the VFW.

"I quit the NRA -- they used to be about gun rights, safety, and shooting sports, and now they're too cowardly to stand up for any of that."
Don't forget George Herbert Walker Bush, who bought a life membership (probably with campaign donations) so he could run for president as a 'lifetime pro-gun NRA member' and immediately enact a gun ban by executive fiat the first month he was in office.
Naturally, when Wayne said 'JBTs' for the first time, it gave Georgie an excuse to tear up his membership card in disgust, not over the fact that FLEAs tend to be criminal thugs, but over the fact that somebody noticed and said it out loud.
