[S]peaking for myself, I’ll never set foot in one again until they change their policy, publicly apologize, and begin proactively supporting and promoting the right to keep and bear arms. [More]This would be the perfect company to put a coordinated squeeze on.

Seems reasonable as none of the Waffle Houses are franchises.
Better tell them, WSF: http://www.wafflehouse.com/story/: "Headquartered in Norcross, GA, Waffle House® operates more than 1,500 restaurants company and franchisee owned."
Is that chain policy?
Since when?
There have been multiple occurrences of armed customers stopping robberies etc.
2013, Union City Georgia:

2012, Chesnee SC:

2010, Kennesaw GA, armed robbers chicken out when they see OCers in the restaurant:

Yes, and I've seen others saying they eat there OCing and no one says anything to them-- I believe the play coy because they are totally privately held -- even though there are existing franchises, they do not offer them to the general public. The earliest ref I can find is from a 2012 forum where the poster claims he spoke with a corporate rep who confirmed-- http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/showthread.php?101414-Waffle-House-Nationwide-No-Carry-Policy-Now-In-Effect
All I can really go by is multiple news accounts corroborating the claim it is No Guns as corp policy-- it does not appear to be in company interests to confirm it.
Got my information from Google.

Willing to admit I may be wrong. I don't like to boycott a business operated by a franchisee as they may have no say in the policies in question.
I'll just add them to my list of 'places and companies where I won't spend my money.' Starbucks has two entries. One for the letter from bonehead CEO asking customers not to carry, the other for disrespecting hetero marriage more recently. Strangely, I've found I can live just fine without them.
Just following orders is a good reason as far as you're concerned.Sounds like you've picked a well seasoned alias.
Anonymous, my info is right up front. Read my blog if you think I follow anyone's orders. Also, why do you hide behind anonymous? Grow a pair.
WSF, I read his comment as the franchise owners you say you'll give a pass to are the ones just following orders. In re anonymity, I allow that here up to a point. Just out of curiosity, I just went to your blog and don't see a name, so did I miss it?
Email address. The name is Frank White.
