First the federal government requires you to pass a federal background check to buy a gun, and then your state won't let you pass the check, for no other reason than because they found your name on a federal list.
So the background check nazi says, "No gun for you!"
And your record can be so squeaky clean that you've never even gotten so much as a parking ticket. Pretty shitty deal.
