So just keep on persecuting gun owners for the "crime" of being armed with what your masters say they may not have, where yours masters say they may not be. Guess who's turn it is next in that barrel?

I agree that cops should be disarmed while on duty. If they need armed backup, let them call on the armed people around them, just as they had to in the beginning. And to further this cause they must encourage everyone else to be adequately armed at all times. This might encourage cops to begin acting like decent humans again, knowing that no one will come to their aid if they continue to act like modern cops have been acting.
A badge is too dangerous to possess at the same time that a person is armed- we see over and over where that leads. If you want a badge, it should come with at least this one limit- if you don't like that condition, you can always find an honest job instead.
