A new Massachusetts gun permit essay rule has Second Amendment supporters seeing red. GFY is all I have to say to them.
Supposedly Free men, in the birthplace of the American War for Independence, are begging permission from the police before they are "permitted" to exercise a Natural and Constitutionally secured right.
Free Men, why do you submit to this?
One would think that marking up the cost of training that it requires to apply for a permit would void the 2nd amendment, because it would put the exercising of a right beyond the ability of so many to be able to exercise their right!
A close cousin of the Poll Tax in the south. And we know why it was instituted. A case could easily be made that this essay and high fee serves the same purpose. To keep the "wrong people" disarmed. In this case the "wrong people" is anyone who dares to desire the ability to defend themselves.
