Yeah, wait for cops to show up later, after the danger is past. Just die cooperatively and make sure no cops are harmed by your demise.

No thank you. Cops too often show up and murder the defender. There's no situation so bad it can't be made worse by inviting the Blue Line Gang to show up. I don't "need" your kind, and neither does anyone else.
