The cop told the friend about the knife and said he was getting it framed to put on his wall. He wanted his friend to get the DR (Departmental Record) number for the Nicole Brown Simpson/Ronald Goldman murder case, which he planned on engraving in the frame. I remember the night of the Bronco chase -- we had to put off a trip to the mountains for several hours as that was the route we needed to take to get out of L.A. When we were finally able to get through, we could see helicopters over the house from the freeway.

Am I mistaken or did the police officer steal the knife from the finder?
No mention that the officer paid for it - what is it? Pretend evidence. Stolen property?
How many departments devide up the "evidence" after a reasonable period of time?
How often do officers get to keep evidence or other people's private property..............??????? I mean outside of stealing money, guns and anything else that isn' bolted down or lacking "a provable ownership trail"
