Surrendering to Extortion

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman was able to hammer out the provisions with 23 operators — who run more than 80% of gun shows in the state ... [More]
I'd say do business with the <20% who haven't caved, but the majority of gun owners are content to let the state rape them -- and not just in New York.

Think I'm being overly harsh with a group overwhelmingly populated by do-nothing bellyachers and out-and-out quislings undermining the efforts of a handful of valiant, serious activists?

"We" could have the right to keep and bear arms secured by lunch were that not true.

Front lines... Let's see y'all do better when it actually comes to putting all your names on lists. I'm not moving. I'm waiting. I read, talk and vote. I try to impress the apathetic (which are many hear)... But not all of us are communist traitor pieces of shit. Most of us upstate are just like in the rest of the so-called fly over country maybe better because of all we've put up with without caving or running. On the weekends you'll hear guns shooting all over the countryside. It's not how a lot of people think it is here. I can't speak for Massachusetts or Connecticut or other places, any more than the rest of you can speak about NY. And I know 99% of people are good intelligent compassionate God fearing Americans that bother reading these blogs, so I'll try to be as polite as I can. Just because the rest of you read articles or play cowboys and Indians or had the misguided patriotism to join one of our abused misused traitorous standing armies... Or do stupid things like pick fights with fedgov on property we collectively ceded to them over the last 100 years... Means any of you know what it's like to actually be living in constant fear of being turned on any moment. I know most people think if they buy the Turner diaries on eBay then suddenly the eye of Sauron shines on you. Try that in NY or CT or CA or OR, or anyplace else in this country that has already openly made clear it's hatred toward constitutional fundamentalists. Try leaving an open trail for them to come after, just so you can make the point to the rest of the sleeping masses how much of our humanity and liberty have been lost. Try watching other 'patriots' driving around in Honda and Toyotas, etc when you've watched Hillary send the factory your father worked at and you were supposed to work for to Canada and Mexico... Then ask me again if I'm voting for these stupid assholes that ruined my life.... Y'all would do better to drop the condescension so you don't pass by allies you'd otherwise have if you could control your prejudices better...

The stated qualifier:

...a group overwhelmingly populated by do-nothing bellyachers and out-and-out quislings undermining the efforts of a handful of valiant, serious activists...

80 - 100 M gun owners.

Perhaps 5M TOPS dues-paying members in all national and state gun rights groups combined, with membership being the bare minimum in terms of commitment in action. Add activism tasks and the number drops exponentially.

My experience in L.A.: We'd be lucky to get a few dozen at a Members Council meeting or a public event.

This is not directed at those doing something -- this is commentary based on years of observation of those who do nothing, which is the overwhelming majority.
