By the way, at the end of "A Tale of Two Cities," didn't the good guy die and the totalitarian state win?

And yet these peace rallies never result in any peace, and sometimes wind up on the receiving end of the violence they're protesting. Not that they're ever actually protesting the real cause of the violence.
I don't know what he was going with that Tale of Two Cities reference. I don't remember much (other than Mel Brook's History of the World), but yeah, at the end, the one guy switches places with the main character and loses his head instead.
