It appears they polled in the inner cities if they're getting 44% of people knowing someone personally that was shot or threatened with a gun.
44%, since when… ever? The older you are, the more likely you can say yes.
I’m 67 and in all that time I know three people “shot with a gun”: one holstering ND, one freak bounce off a popper, and one incredibly freak bounce off a silhouette ram (200y). In all cases the shooter shot himself. In all cases, none of it meant nuthin’ as far as this type of poll. Especially since one of those three was an Only One.
In 44 years I know over a dozen people killed by cars. Almost the same for overdosing. Several dozen from cancer and other assorted diseases. About a dozen from heart attacks. One by... Terrorists? (Depends on one's discernment of the 'facts' of 9/11). One murdered with a big ass knife. Another who was electrocuted. And a poor beautiful soul who (after years of missing) only her legs were found. But ZERO ever injured or killed by guns (excluding friends over seas).
Point being: there's a lot more scary dangerous sit in the world than good people with guns.
Just my 2¢.
