If anyone is aware of that scam, a dashcam should put a stop to it.
There's a LEGAL reason it's called the "posted" legal speed limit. But even that is arguable in court, if you pull the DoT's road surveys and find out that more than 65% of the passers-by are going more than what's posted. THAT is supposed to be what the "real" speed limit is. Per the late Lynn Poulsen, who worked as a trial strategist for four law firms in SLC.
