Slim Pickings

The Times said Slim never affected coverage and a representative for the billionaire said Slim wasn’t interested in influencing the election. [More]
For the first part of the proposition, considering it's The Times, he didn't need to.  For the second, bull -- the guy knows exactly what "progressive" policies do to keep things in Mexico as is.

Speaking if which, does anybody think he could exist and prosper if the cartels didn't want him to? Or that the lack of investigation into the guy by "authorized journalists" hasn't been influenced by his place in the food chain?

Family name Salim, ancestors were Lebanese. Don't know which religion, probably Christian.
