Coming Soon, to a Refugee Relocation Center Near You

Eritreans and Afghans fought running battles in broad daylight, some armed with rods and metal poles, television pictures showed. It was not clear who was armed with firearms. [More]
That's probably because that would be against the law in France.

N'est-ce pas?

David? When did "immigrant" become "migrant"? When I think of "migrants", I think of the farm workers who (at least USED to) would come up from Mexico to pick farm produce in Kali. They'd "migrate" to Kali for a while, pick the crops, get paid and go back home to Mexico. When I think of "migrants" I also think about the folks some call "winter Texans" who migrate down from your neck of the woods to the Rio Grande Valley to spend the winter in our much nicer (and WARMER) climate. In neither case do the migrants come to settle for good. They just come for a time and return home later.

As far as I can see, the Muslim so-called "migrants" flooding into Europe are doing so with an eye towards living there permanently. To me, that makes them "immigrants" not "migrants". Am I wrong, David?
