You'll be glad to know that Randy Rossi is currently enjoying his 10th year of retirement after 'serving' the state of California for 31 years. He's managing to survive on a taxpayer funded pension of $112,000 a year, plus lifetime medical coverage for he and his spouse.
He retired as a CEA, which is a 'plug-in' position called a Career Executive Assignment. Kind of a 'Have Obedient Brain, Will Travel' kind of position.
