The process is, itself, the punishment. Nothing but a revenue generating scam cooked up by attorneys and legislators who need to justify an ever increasing "budget". Again, the statutes apply ONLY to "persons". Any of these poor people who've been "ERPO'd" (coining a new verb from a noun here?) should be studying their rights as men and women and challenging the jurisdiction right off the bat, since this is a CLEAR violation of their Right to Due Process as men or women in COMMON LAW, and not statutory law.
We have a remedy for all this - if we'd just USE it (instead of attorneys).
