Norfolk-based sailor used military discount to buy guns and resell them — sometimes to criminals [More]Is it unfair to speculate about low-hanging fruit and to wonder if there might be a UBC-vested provocateur lurking in the background somewhere?

No, its not unfair. BCs are violative of our natural rights, and are clearly unconstitutional. The prior restraint of a constitutionally-protected right(ie requiring that we obtain permission from the state to exercise our right to self defense) is clearly illegal. The 2A is not much of a deterrent to the state if the government knows where all the guns are located. Despite what they say, we currently do have registration of all FFL transfers. The information collected from Form 4473 is electronically retained by the ATF, but is not officially considered to constitute registration because no makes and models are collected at the time of background check. The fact that ATF routinely collects copies of pages of FFL disposition books, and requires that all FFLs must turn all records into the ATF upon closing, is clearly the equivalent of registration. A credible source informs me that the ATF is currently obtaining FFL records under the guise of "investigating crimes" to fill in on #justacitizen
