Considering the time of night and the rural location, I think it is safe to assume the perpetrator did something to the victim's dish in order to draw him outside. I wonder if it was due to some prior interaction between victim and perp, or someone with a financial reason for killing him? A relative, perhaps? Choice of weapon makes me think there are neighbors close enough that they might have heard a gunshot. on Our Little Princesses
