We're the Only Ones Falsely Positive Enough

A specially trained drug-sniffing dog was alerted to the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and a preliminary test done by the police officers further tested positive for a controlled dangerous substance.  [More]
Does that mean the dog responded to a hand signal and the JBTs figured they'd rather see the lie through than admit they ... uh...screwed something other than the pooch?

There have been studies done on these dogs. The drug dogs give false positives anywhere from 50%-80% of the time. Flipping a coin would be just as accurate. We should not lose our 4th Amendment rights to an animal that cannot testify in court. Dogs want to please their masters. Nothing makes a cop happier than an "alert" that gives him the privilege of searching a serf's property.
