Why? Because the reference to “non-binary” is a dogwhistle indicating that if you dare use a singular pronoun (he, she, or it), you will be crucified no matter which one you choose.

The Left is trying to figure out what pronouns might be repurposed in order to not offend their "non-binary" members.
