Giffords Guncucks

Texas Gun Owners for Safety... [More]
Gotta make that Astroturf look grassroots...with a special guest appearance by Flack Chipman.

Sam Adams only had to note the Tories of his time to foresee that the counsel and the arms of crouching hand-lickers like Alan Krov would always be unworthy of seeking.

If I were an FFL and he came into my shop, I'd tell him to get the hell out.

Any bets he's a doctrinaire Democrat blue state transplant?

“I’m here to defend my Second Amendment rights, but the Second Amendment doesn’t say anything about having a fully automatic assault rifle that can mow down 30 people in 10 seconds,” he said.

Actually, the Second Amendment covers the subject rather succinctly:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

As further clarification, Tench Coxe, one of the people we consider as founders of our republic, wrote:

"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American… The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."

Note carefully the phrase "every terrible instrument of the soldier."

Wouldn't that include a "fully automatic assault rifle"?

A "fully automatic assault rifle"? Honestly, I have never seen one in person, but I have seen a lot of AR-15s. This Krov guy is terminally confused. I wonder if he will really be satisfied when he is down to a single shot rifle?

Back in the Cold War days, any eastern bloc group that got to tour the free world was assigned a “Political Officer” to accompany them at all times, monitor their political orthodoxy, and thwart defections. The Political Officer reported directly to the Party.

It might be proper to start referring to Chipman as the Gifford group’s Political Officer.
