What do Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya all have in common? No the most correct answer is not Islam. The most correct answer is that at one time or another, various outside governments tried to bring every one of them out of the 14th Century into the modern era.
The results remind me of an old joke:
Q: How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one. But the light bulb has to want to change.
Àfghanistan has been the bane ...and cause of much heartache and misspent wealth.....for many empires including Britain, Russia and the USA. I see no reason why China shouldn't experience this reality for a change.
