UConn Med. School May Shutter Honor Society Amid Diversity Feud - Merit requirement keeps society too white, faculty say [More]This is full-blown insane.
What with the gunquack phenomenon and other forays into "progressivism," the "medical profession" has increasingly devolved into the practice of fraudulent politics rather than science.
I wonder who the virtue-oozers that came up with this bright idea would want operating on them.
If anyone is "underrepresented" in any field, it's the best and the brightest, and they don't appear to be running the UConn School of Medicine.

The best and brightest don't get into medical school these days. The schools are obsessed with trying to get as many non-White (but not Asian) students into white coats for promotional shots as possible. Regular high achieving White kids with great GPAs, clinical experience and top 1% MCAT scores? Not interested for the most part.
"Leaders of many elite institutions now say that a merit-based admissions policy may lead to unacceptable racially unequal outcomes."
Equality of outcome. There it is.
We cannot allow a world in which the Washington Generals don't win exactly half their games.
Just give all the applicants a participation trophy and be done with it.
