The argument in the linked article is stupid. You could just as "logically" argue that prostitution should remain illegal because some hookers are thieves (Boston Police Chief, radio interview re Combat Zone, 1973), or that gun ownership should be illegal because it provides burglars a source from which to steal guns (Anthony Fabio, 2016). In all cases, the crime was not about marijuana as marijuana, but committed to obtain a commodity with financial value, like any other piece of property.
