Kumcur continued firing after being wounded, and Shoop, caught in the crossfire, was struck by one of Kumcur’s bullets, say the charges. Washington was not hit by any of the officers’ rounds ... Washington is “100% culpable” for Shoop’s death, even though Shoop died from a round fired by his field-training officer. [More]"100%"? So their trainer is completely off the hook without review and there are no lessons to be learned here besides that one?

Even if one doesn't quibble with the felony murder rule (and I typically don't), this narrative is wrong on so many levels. Both cops returned fire, neither one hit the actual perp, but the training officer hit his own rookie? That's a performance well beyond sad.
