The reason this is being widely shared, aside from another chance to diss a president they hate, is the DSM finds it advantageous to label Fox news as "conservative," meaning any news source to the "right" of them can be disparaged as "extremist. What's deliberately left unsaid in contemporary "reports" is that Murdoch is a "Never Trumper" who actually preferred Hillary Clinton (and his sons are even more "progressive.") Like all useful idiots, once their purpose has been served they become disposable.
So look for Fox News to push even more to the left so the center and the goalposts are once again moved. You have to wonder how long Tucker Carlson's got with them.

I wish somebody would do a scholarly treatment of what irresistible force drags news purveyors to the Dark Side. I don’t understand the mechanism.

Fox News proves it’s more than merely Conquest’s Second Law, because it was created as a conservative outlet and still went south.
