We could potentially avoid a lot of these arguments about what the Bill of Rights does and does not do if these so called experts would bother to read it.

First Amendment text:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The First Amendment forbids the Federal Government, and through "incorporation", the governments of the various states, from establishing an officially sanctioned state religion.

That's all it has to say about religion!

Freedom from religion and separation of church and state are not in there!
