Joe Biden plans to move quickly against guns, adding the issue to his list of first executive orders, according to his top policy aide. [More]
Because who needs checks and balances when you can wield dictatorial power with fawning media approval?
Now that our "pro-gun president" has clearly shown the way (with a special assist from our "gun rights leaders"!) does anybody still not understand the issue and still maintain the "bump stock ban" is just about "a stupid piece of plastic"?

"Stroke of the pen. Law of the land. Kinda cool" -- Paul Begala advisor to President Bill Clinton
But Executive orders have a flaw, they're temporary by nature. With a stroke of his pen, a later president can cancel them whereas repeal of legislation requires passage by both houses and a presidential signature.
That is, of course, assuming that the Democrats don't achieve their apparent goal of turning the United States into a one party state.
It sounds like those type of actions against armed peaceable citizens is likely to spark a lot more gun violence than it quells, and it will be mostly directed at oath-breaking jack-booted government goons.
And then we come for those that give such orders.
