Senate Judiciary Subcommittee Hearing on Gun Violence Prevention

I just did not have time to watch this the other day. I'm not sure how much of it I'll have time to watch now, but I wanted to make sure readers here knew about it and had a chance to see what was said:

I'm particularly interested in the testimony of former ATF tech Richard Vasquez, who was a thorn in the Bureau's side on "bump stocks," and who, as I understand it, is not being helpful to them here.

Richard Vasquez and Ashley Hlebinski were both unhelpful to the purpose of this hearing, that being to advance additional regulation on personally made firearms. It was unfortunate that there were so few informed Republicans in the hearing to ask questions and peel back more of the layers. On the other hand, I was unaware of the magnitude of the 80% receiver market. I'm actually pleasantly surprised to discover how many are available. A major factor that was not addressed during the hearing is that all the actions described regarding purchase of these kits and components at gun shows are already illegal for those prohibited from possessing a firearm. Putting a serial number on them doesn't make obtaining and carrying them any more illegal.

Douchebag Dick Blumenthal lies every time he opens his mouth. Lies about background checks and tries to pigeonhole Ashley Hiebinski at around 1:46. He failed in that attempt.
