It's a needed idea and naming it after Brian Terry is a nice touch, but it'll never make it out of committee and she and the cosponsors know it.

It wouldn't pass in a "Republican"-controlled Congress, either.

I guess it's nice to see how things could be. Just don't spend too much energy on it, because there are real priorities hurtling toward us that require our attention.

There's another facet to any shutdown of ATF that needs to be considered.

As was discussed by the Clinton administration post Waco, the ATF consists of a large group of trigger happy ninja wannabes with civil service protections, i.e. they can't be trusted and they can't be fired. No federal law enforcement body want's anything to do with them.

So...... Rock, meet hard place.
