On Sunday morning Adams told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” that Democrats’ priorities on gun laws at the federal level are misguided, saying they’ve focused too much on banning assault rifles in the aftermath of mass shootings, while they should be focusing more on gun crimes committed with handguns, which are more common in cities. That doesn't mean he doesn't also support a semiauto ban, and besides, going after handguns was the original plan. I see some out there hailing this schism as some sort of significant bridging of the gap -- and not grokking that "enforcing existing gun laws" is no different from enforcing existing Intolerable Acts.
Make no mistake: Adams is not our friend.

The whole point of attacking "AWs" was to divide and conquer firearms -- to show that "some" guns could be banned despite the 2A... then they could come after other guns by demonizing them the same way. Well, they beat on AWs for decades and still haven't succeeded in showing they can be banned... so in typical short-attention-span Democrat form, they're now just going to pretend they were successful, and go after handguns "as if" they were "like" AWs that "had been" banned. Don't forget -- public sentiment to ban handguns polled much less than 50% even in the gun-control utopias of CA and MA.
