Imbedded in the above, one of my favorite quotes, is a corollary. To whit: they continue to disturb us BECAUSE they in fact want a civil disturbance.
Which they, of course, think they will win.
From the cognitive dissonance department, for the second time in my life, we are in the process of declaring victory and running like hell from one of our longest wars that we somehow failed to win, taking with us our state of the art high tech weapons, including Biden's vaunted F-15's and Swalwell's nukes.
In both of those cases our now victorious opponents, the Viet Cong and the Taliban respectively, were armed with light infantry weapons and obviously had no chance in hell of defeating the mighty American military machine as per the expert military analysis of people like Joe and Eric.
But they screwed up their courage and did it anyway much as our ancestors did to King George III's supposedly invincible Royal Army and Navy.
Gonna get interesting if they don't wake up to the reality.
One wonders how the Democrats will react once a Republican becomes speaker?
We've had Republican Speakers. Frankly I wasn't impressed with Boehner or Ryan. They told us their hands were tied because they didn't control the Senate. So we voted them into control of the Senate. OOPS! Their hands were still tied because they didn't control the White House. So we gave them control of the White House.
Did they repeal Obamacare? Nope!
Did they repeal any gun laws? Nope!
Did they pass national concealed carry reciprocity? Nope!
Were they better than Princess Nancy? OK so you win on that one.
Pete, a 'Republican' speaker will maintain momentum toward hell on earth, just in a more sedate manner.
Having watched Rs screw us, toss kibbles & bits to gain re-erection, and then screw us some more, I find no succor in political factionalism.
Applies to my adopted State of Texas and the fools on the hill in DC.
Tired of hearing how these pecksniffs will 'fight for us' (send money) but simply feather their nests with no substantive work done.
