The biggest threat to "Our Democracy" is that we don't have one, and hopefully never will. The founders are on record as having feared and hated democracies as an example of mob rule.
On the other hand, the fact that one of our major political parties is hell bent on converting our Republic into a democracy is certainly a major level of threat to what the Founders wanted.
