New Lies for Old

It’s the submitted for tracing part that’s misleading – misleading in a big way. [More]

That's the lying tactic these frauds played with Project Gunwalker.

What's wry about this is that even this most phony statistic has dropped from 90% to 70% in the ten years since they first tried it.

If you guys aren't familiar with "The Drake Equation" here's a rundown on it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation

The reason I mention it is that around the time Obama was yet again floating the "90% of Mexican crime guns come from the USA" lie, I saw an equation that listed all the factors that the Mexican government took into account when deciding whether it was worth the trouble to ask ATF to trace a firearm.

IIRC it looked as complicated as the Drake Equation.

But the bottom line was that the overwhelming majority of guns recovered did not get submitted for tracing.

That's a fact that several sources covered quite thoroughly while blowing the lid off of the 90% lie that was being recycled by Obama's folks.

David, Mike, and others turned up quite a bit of evidence that Fast and Furious was at least in part intended to push the real numbers up to what had been cited in the "less than truthful" press releases.
