I used 911 once in my life. Never again.
A neighbor called me and told me a rental property I owned was on fire.
I dialed 911 and jumped in my car to drive there.
I got an interminable message telling me that I had called 911, of the almighty blah county of the almighty blah state, and it better be for an important reason, or else there were two other numbers I should have called instead, and gave them to me.
Then it said it would repeat this message in Spanish and TTY tones for the deaf.
Then it repeated the whole message in Spanish.
Then it repeated the whole message in TTY tones.
Then it went back to the first (English) message again.
By this time, I had already taken a short detour to the fire substation and reported the fire in person.
Absolute incompetence.
