If they're going to say violence-minded men with real guns, I propose a test.
I guess it may be better than nothing and to each his own. The chances of ever having to use it may be so remote that the long-term peace of mind may outweigh the astonishment that comes from suddenly realizing you've been kidding yourself and you're in for it now...
