Unpreventable?

“My son is mentally ill and he did something that I could not control and no one could come to help him,” Cheryl Campbell told the Richmond Times-Dispatch in her Hanover home. “I’m sorry for what has happened. I could not prevent it.” [More]

Regardless of the reasons what have we learned...?

So much for the timing on this...

Our society is not perfect by a long shot. And I'm not talking about president Brandon or any of the other buffoons we continually elect to public office.

I am talking about our inability to lock up those who need being locked up, out inability to punish those who need to be punished, but mostly about our inability to help those who need our help.

Stories like the one linked to above remind me of this essay.

You readers who are parents should be saying, "There, but for the grace of God, go I."
