Guilt By Accusation

On Friday, a federal judge halted an effort to disqualify Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) from running for office, based upon claims he ought to be barred from doing so according to the 14th Amendment. Lawsuits charged Cawthorn was an "insurrectionist" who supported those who participated in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.[More]

What's he been convicted of? Or are unapproved opinions enough to disenfranchise choices for voters who hold them?

A Growing Franchise Opportunity

On Tuesday night, voter turnout was higher than it was in the last midterm cycle — a very inconvenient truth for Dems who spent months claiming the recently enacted election integrity law would disenfranchise voters. [More]

That and motivated Republican voters means Party leadership is really going to have to outdo themselves if they want to blow it...

Like a Broken Record

Governor Lamont Introduces Comprehensive Package of Legislative Proposals on Gun Violence [More]

This sounds like a broken record. I see a lot of stuff designed to disenfranchise and harass the "law-abiding," but don't see a thing that will stop one POS predator from doing whatever he feels like doing whenever and wherever he feels like doing it.

Who thinks the record won't continue to be broken after all this?

UPDATE: Connecticut Citizen's Defense League Opposes Governor's Gun Control Initiative. For the record, I disagree with the "firearms trafficking" efforts because of this and this.

So Much for a Government of All the People

According to KrebsonSecurity, the IRS announced that by the summer of 2022, the only way to log into irs.gov will be through ID.me. [More]

And the Democrat administration doesn't figure this will disenfranchise underprivileged minorities and the elderly?

Identifying the Problem

Rep. Nancy Mace cleverly gets fleeing TX Dem to recognize ID necessity in daily life [More]

The problem is that those who would disenfranchise the rest of us are liars and that those who will not think it through are foolish cultists.

Anchors Aweigh

Biden directs ICE to avoid arresting pregnant, nursing mothers - Immigration officers will now need permission from higher-ups to detain anyone who is pregnant, postpartum or nursing. [More]

What, and disenfranchise "birthright citizens"? I'm sure they all know better than to ask.

Good thing this has nothing to do with that "single issue." Just ask any "gun rights leader."

What, and Disenfranchise the Infringers?

Should Gun Owners Reconsider Defending the Federal Background Check System? [More]

You mean we shouldn't demand to enforce existing Intolerable Acts?

But isn't politics the art of the possible? Isn't the perfect the enemy of the good?

Where will we be if we don't compromise with those whose manipulators want us obedient or dead?

Nazi Kangaroo Fascists!

Unamerican Airlines

American Airlines said it is “strongly opposed” to a bill passed by the Texas Senate that would make it more difficult to vote and “others like it,” making it the latest major corporation to stand up to a push by Republicans to tighten voting laws. [More]

So I take it they'll refuse to disenfranchise passengers and condemn TSA for requiring government-issued ID before allowing them to fly?

Cream of the Crop

While the Democrats continue to stick to their narrative that incidents of ballot harvesting and rampant voter fraud are just a bogeyman conjured up by Republicans to disenfranchise people (or something), more evidence continues to prove just how wrong they are. In Texas, four people have been arrested in a ballot harvesting scheme, including a Gregg County commissioner.  [More]

Bring That Up Again and We'll Vote On It!

Earlier today I got a text from a friend with photographs of three absentee ballot applications that came to his residence. One was addressed to him. The other two were addressed to a couple who formerly owned his home, but moved to Arizona in 2017. There is literally nothing standing in the way of his checking the third alternative on question number 4, and obtaining absentee ballots in the names of those former residents, which he could then cast, thus voting three times instead of once. What is This 'Problem' of Which You Speak?

Common reasons for ballots being rejected: voters failed to sign the envelop, the signature on the envelope doesn't match the one election offices have on file or ballots are received far after the deadline. [More]

So we're supposed to worry if those incapable of paying attention and following simple instructions "disenfranchise" themselves?

A Minor Clerical Glitch

Ahead of Tuesday’s hotly-contested special election in California’s 25th congressional district a watchdog group has announced that, according to their research, hundreds of voters have received two or even three mail-in ballots in the May 12 contest, which was ordered to be “all vote by mail” by Gov. Gavin Newsom. [More]
Now just stop it. Voter fraud doesn't happen. If anything, racist Republicans are trying to disenfranchise minorities.

Just ask well-heeled partisan "progressives" and their media megaphones.

You Get a Vote and You Get a Vote and You Get a Vote!

The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a permanent injunction issued by U.S. District Judge Julia Robinson in 2018 and found that Kansas’s requirement to provide identification when registering to vote violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment as well as the National Voter Registration Act. Counting Coup

“All three states have multiple counties where voter registration rates exceed 90 percent, in some cases they exceed 100 percent. In the last election in 2018, the nationwide registration rate according to the U.S. Census Bureau was 66.9 percent. That disparity is a clear sign these states aren’t maintaining accurate voter rolls”... Gunkapo of the Month

Proposed bill to tax rifles, high capacity magazines [More]
Ah, the Disproportionately Disenfranchise People of Color of Their Rights Act of 2020 -- that'll price them out of the range of "those people," at least the "law-abiding" ones. What a "progressive" idea! I wonder how "chief sponsor" Ann Gillespie looks in a pointed hood.

But the real "star" of this show is Randall Gustafson, our February 2020 Gunkapo of the Month Award recipient, "a salesman at Pro Gun & Indoor Range in Marion" who, according to this report, "says he'd support the bill if he knew which programs are being funded."

That would make a difference?

I'm wondering why any gun owner of principle would want to throw business to those subverting while profiting off our most fundamental of rights. I suppose if he claims he was misquoted, we could always ask the reporter...
