Caging the Keepers

The Federal Trade Commission sued to break up Facebook on Wednesday, asking a federal court to force the sell-off of assets such as Instagram and WhatsApp as independent businesses. [More]

I'm intuitively against such government overreach. That said, VLLA SELLA, mother******s.

An Exercise in Long Division

[Right click to enlarge in new tab]
I know the "science" is debatable, but that's not the point. Environmentalcase "progressives," the people who also provide the useful idiots for citizen disarmament troops, say they believe, and this is a way to either set factions against each other or to demonstrate their hypocrisy for giving Shannon a pass.

VLLA SELLA 'n all that...

I'd send this to her myself but she blocked me.

Order Out of Chaos

While our first objective is to protest open primaries, our second objective is to assist the reelection of the President by extending and exacerbating the division among the Democrats.  [More]

One Nation, Divisible

Chairwoman Louella Thompson said she’ll have law enforcement present to take action if anyone stands to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the next meeting of the Bladen County Board of Elections. [More]
Hey, they'll only be following orders.

Looks like she backed down. Too bad-- would have been a great way to continue letting Democrats show people what they're all about.

And yeah, I know.

VLLA SELLA 'n All That

The committee recommends getting Norfolk Police Department officers to provide security in waiting areas and to get weighted chairs or bolt seats to the floor so they can’t be used as weapons — as Craig did. [More]

Thirteen Reasons Why

The final vote of 245 to 182 fell largely along party lines, but 13 Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the measure.  [More]
Who are they?  Don't you "professional reporters" at CBS News think that might be a major point of interest to at least list, if not explore? Oh, that's right, I forgot: Real journalists show you for what you are.

The Hill and Roll Call haven't forgotten the first of "the 5 W's." I see oozing "bipartisan" manginas Brian Fitzpatrick and Fred Upton are among the dissidents.

If I had the time, I'd go through each name to see how they are on immigration and guns. One name that sticks out for me is Thomas Massie's.

Here are his reasons

They don't sit well with my "VLLA SELLA" predisposition, but I've gotta admit that usurpation of undelegated authority is what got us into this tyrannical government mess in the first place.

I admit I'm conflicted. I fear if the threat is not stopped, and now, we are heading for a place where the niceties of "rules" will be irrelevant.

He tells me "the response from VCDL was that they don't think there's a chance for such an amendment."

So? That doesn't mean it has no value and should be dismissed and ignored.

It's an imaginative and logical argument that will make sense to the "normals," and deserves to be exploited and thrown back in the teeth of the antis. And not just in VA, but everywhere the argument is made that someone can't be trusted with a gun.

The Pulse of the Nation

China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran are preparing nuclear electronic pulse attacks from space in a future conflict to cripple the U.S. military and plunge the United States into darkness, according to a declassified study. [More]
No doubt.

Enemies make plans to kill you. They always have.

It's not like "we" don't have plans to kill them. The problem is, suicidal Westerners impose "rules" and self-restraints.

That's why I am anti-violence except as necessary to stop a threat, at which point VLLA SELLA comes into play if that's the only way.

Go to the Wall

We’ll see what happens. It’s promising that the GOP is moving on this, but as always—watch out for the moderate wing to foul things up for us. [More]
I'd call it the swamp wing. If there is a "blue wave," it will be because their self-serving betrayals, cowardice and utter lack of leadership  discouraged the necessary following.

It is nice to see some finally figuring out that pulling your punches is no  way to win a vicious fight.

Gotta Replace Those Torn-Down Monuments with Something

Why not with a Hero to the State?
John Glenn statue proposed for Ohio Statehouse [More]
I said my piece on the guy here.

This anonymous comment was left under my Alcee Hastings article announcement, but it more appropriately belongs on topic:

Meanwhile, another more prominent congresscritter from Ohio is to be posthumously honored via taxpayer funding.

I am awaiting the attacks from the 'USA-USA-USA cheering section' for unceremoniously unmasking his 'hero' status in the local fishwrap:

Organizers to request Ohio state funds for John Glenn statue

Why not take an honest look at someone before canonizing them?

John Glenn sullied whatever honor he possessed when he sought political power as a United States Senator and subsequently proceeded to disregard the limitations of the Constitution.

Upon his election-totally based on his astronaut celebrity status-he freely took the oath to support and defend the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights required to assume office.

He then performed in a manner that indicated his dismissal and disregard for that oath...

On July 16, 1996, the Senate Committee on Governmental affairs held hearings considering a bill to require Congress to specify for each new law which section of the Constitution gives it authority to pass the law.

What could be more reasonable, and not at all a hindrance to legislating under the terms of the Constitution?

United States Senator John Glenn spoke out strongly against this requirement:
"Americans just want us to... not be concernedif they can be constitutionally justified...
Why, if we had to do that we could not passmost of the laws we enact around here."
http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/John.Glenn.Quote.7188

That quote is simply astonishing in that Glenn admits that the majority of laws legislated by Congress fail to meet the requirements of the Constitution!

Distilled to purity, Glenn's attitude appears to have been that expedience is all that matters and that Congress may legislate anything without any practical limitations (which is apparently what Congress has been doing for decades).

And so, obviously Glenn *knowingly* crapped all over the Bill of Rights and Constitution, and his oath to same as well.

Apparently Glenn never had much-or maybe no-exposure to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the principals of America's founding document-the Declaration of Independence...except for when he was required -several times- to swear an oath to be true to the Constitution.

Oaths that appear to have been willingly given falsely...and deliberately...

Prime proof of this is as Senator, Glenn never missed an opportunity to vote in favor of so-called gun control, despite the 2nd Amendment's command that that right not be infringed.

This country will not survive abandonment of Founding principals by both the political class and the rabble that are tasked with selecting those that rule over us.

John Glenn may indeed be worthy of hero status based on his military aeronautical accomplishments alone, but his subsequent lack of fidelity to a Republic governed in accord to the Constitution should leave no doubt that hero is an undeserved honor.

Not a single penny of taxpayer cash should be frittered away on a monument to honor John Glenn, as the John Glenn Post Office in Glenn’s birthplace of Cambridge, Ohio, is more than sufficient, given Glenn's true character.

We're in the age of fakeness...

Fake news...

Fake heroes...

Fake truth...

Fake integrity...

Fake fidelity to America's founding documents...

Being a stickler for these sorts of things, I tried to track down the Glenn quote and found this:
On July 16, 1996, the Senate Committee on Governmental affairs held hearings considering a bill to require Congress to specify for each new law which section of the Constitution gives it authority to pass the law.  Sen. Glenn spoke out strongly against this requirement stating, "Why, if we had to do that we could not pass most of the laws we enact around here."  He stated that  the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and others could never have been passed if Congress had to find authority for them in the Constitution.  He declared, "Americans just want us to solve America's problems of health and safety--and not be concerned if they can be constitutionally justified."
If anyone can link this to an official record, please do.

UPDATE: Seeing as how Glenn played a critical role in torpedoing Gals in Space, maybe we can get "progressive feminists" to do the heavy lifting for us. (And incidentally, his reasoning at the time was correct, but VLLA SELLA 'n all...)

Another One Bites the Dust

Leon Wieseltier, a prominent editor at The New Republic for three decades who was preparing to unveil a new magazine next week, apologized on Tuesday for “offenses against some of my colleagues in the past” after several women accused him of sexual harassment and inappropriate advances. [More]
What is it about feminism-espousing "progressives" that in practice abuse women?  Oh, yeah, Opposite Day...

The thought strikes there's one "profession" that seems to have escaped the right kind of scrutiny in all the brouhaha, and I'd bet it's one ripe for exploring: "Education."

We've all see the stories about teachers rutting with minors, so it could be useful to prove these are overwhelmingly supporters of Hillary and the like. But something that seems to have completely escaped media focus is the archetypal college professor who gets the coed. Talk about a disparity in power. Talk about opportunities for the spurned-for-a-newer-model to avenge themselves with tales of undue "pressure."

Super Illegal Alien

DC goes full Antifa. Naturally, the "hater" is a white man and a gun owner who wears an American flag. [More]

What's the Opposite Day "progressive" counterpart to "Truth, justice and the American way"?

It's hardly surprising. After all, Superman is an illegal alien himself, a refugee whose adopters lied about his origins and continued masking his real identity so his invented persona could fraudulently claim American citizenship -- which the Cultural Marxist writers had him renounce a few years back.

Could the manipulation be more transparent? And, of course, rival Marvel is every bit as in-your-face with it. Figures.

Still, I wonder how activist of color, say, Black Lives Matter and the like, feel about white liberals using the white language construct so that "blackness" of "soul" is being promoted as contemptible? It's a cinch that it was the white establishment that introduced and has since perpetuated the connotation of "black" with "...black with rage ... dirty, soiled ... thoroughly sinister or evil ... wicked ... a black deed ... indicative of condemnation or discredit got a black mark for being late...connected with or invoking the supernatural and especially the devil black magic the black arts ... very sad, gloomy, or calamitous black despair ... marked by the occurrence of disaster black Friday ... characterized by hostility or angry discontent ... sullen black resentment filled his heart..."

Are they going to let DC get away with perpetuating this racist stereotype?  And tangentially related, why won't DC let black social justice champion Alcee Hastings use the Superman symbol anymore?

Seeing Red

Interesting. Wear a hat the brainwashed Marxist padawans disapprove of and they will melt down, so the "progressive" solution is to ban the hat-wearers. [More]

How is saying the girls were provoking trouble any different than saying a rape victim "was asking for it" because of the way she was dressed?

If I wear something you don't like, you have every right to disapprove. You even have a right to tell me so, and I have a right to tell you what you can do with your opinion. And will.

Get physical, and VLLA SELLA rules apply.
