A Numbers Game

The federal government can tell you how many "Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders" stole a car, the precise number of "American Indian or Alaska Natives" who were arrested for vagrancy or how many whites were busted for counterfeiting in any given year. But the government agencies that crunch crime numbers are utterly unable -- or unwilling -- to pinpoint for the public how many illegal immigrants are arrested within U.S. borders each year. [More]

Cartoonish Call for More ATF Funding Disregards Bureau Time-to-Crime Stats

Seeing as how there’s not a “source state” on the map that can’t be driven to in hours, or at most in two days, the lack of newer model firearms would seem to indicate that “pipeline” is pretty severely clogged. Either that or the whole concept is a fiction created by gun-grabbers to mask the utter failure of their efforts to date at achieving promised results — and to cast the blame for that on states where their grasp is not as tight. Response to Presidential Platform Survey Inquiry

This is a response from WarOnGuns Correspondent "Laocoön" to a "Cruz for President" followup inquiry regarding their Presidential Platform Survey.
---
Dear Senator Cruz,

I've provided my concerns repeatedly, but they've been ignored. The only way to regain my support is to reverse your direction on legal immigration, 180 degrees. For the USA to have a hope of survival and of assimilating the flood of immigrants that has been accelerating since 1965, legal immigration must be slashed to zero for several decades, or at least back to the non-suicidal average levels (and criteria) that prevailed from the 1920s under President Coolidge through the 1950s under President Eisenhower.

Immigration is already an order of magnitude too high and too fast, but the policies you support would overwhelm us even more rapidly.

Well over 100 million Americans are unemployed, underemployed, or on some kind of welfare. 100% of the net jobs created in the USA since the year 2000 went to immigrants. We're underwater and drowning, yet you propose to open the flood gates wider, in some cases by a factor of 500% annually.

We're being culturally terraformed. Legal Hispanics, for example, are over 5 times as likely to identify with the Democrat party than the Republican party. Over-immigration is overwhelming the relatively conservative native born citizenry's voting control of the USA. The last 50 years since Kennedy's 1965 Immigration Act -- a Democrat Trojan Horse -- clearly show that we can't assimilate that many people that fast. Even if it were true that the second generations will vote like the average American -- which it isn't at these excessive, balkanizing levels -- and it's contrary to massive empirical evidence -- we would still lose the USA to the first generations, and the damage will be irreversible. It is our culture being assimilated and destroyed, along with our liberty, sovereignty, security, dignity, quality of life, freedom of movement, real per capita income, per capita national wealth, cost of living, standard of living, and our human and natural environments.

Please, see California. Do the Democrats have to gain an irreversible supermajority of a supermajority of the states before our side considers the overwhelming empirical evidence and realizes that open-immigration theory -- of the neo-Left-"Libertarians", of Julian Simon, of the Wall St Journal, of Rupert Murdoch, and of closet-Democrat Michael Bloomberg -- is fatally flawed? One cannot claim to be a conservative or a Republican while supporting immigration policies that will give Social Democrats and RINOs permanent control of the USA, the states, the courts, the police, the "security state", and the military.

America's history of immigration is not a morally binding suicide pact against future generations. Over-immigration is wrecking the USA, permanently. Trump, Santorum, Walker, and Carson have called for cutting legal immigration in the interest of American citizens first. Walker stepped up before Trump did. Santorum over a year ago. Carson just flipped, though he's still hedging. What are you waiting for?

Sincerely,
[Name Redacted]

P.S. By "legal Hispanics", I mean legal foreign born citizens and permanent residents. Illegals are of course more left leaning, whereas native born Hispanics are only 4.4 times as likely to identify with D over R. ... Based on Pew Research results.

Gun-Grabber Proposals, Including O’Malley’s, Getting More Outlandish and Laughable

In this case, though, O’Malley is throwing a “Hail Mary.” With Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton using up all the electoral oxygen in the room, and even undeclared Joe Biden drawing four time his numbers, O’Malley is currently coming in at three percent. That’s no small coincidence when you consider the number of estimated gun owners who will not go quietly into that good night.[More

Blast from the Past

I was researching something completely different this morning and came across this photo of Sarah Brady at my neighborhood park from when I was still living in SoCal. I realized this was where and when I was threatened by an "Only One" for presuming to ask a question without "legitimate credentials," giving eventual birth to the term "Authorized Journalists."

Nice unsecured guns by the "common sense gun safety" folks, eh? Oh well, I suppose if someone had been foolish enough to do a snatch and grab, there were plenty of legitimate credentials ready to open fire in the crowd.

Those who would disarm us demand to control everything, even a citizen asking a question of a public figure at a public event at a public place. And they'll use the force of the state to bend us to their will. It's the "progressive" way.

Things could have gone differently, had the man in the suit been a bit dumber and more kneejerk violence-prone, at which point, he'd have had a full continuum of force at his disposal. Naturally, when an indignant hive insect who witnessed the official intimidation attempt wrote a letter to the local paper, his beef was with gun activists "self-righteously cloaking themselves in the First Amendment," or some such language.

Want a quick example of what would happen if citizens didn't so "cloak themselves," and left everything to the "official" narrative spinners?

Realizing that the only job a guy like me could ever hope to get with a "real" newspaper would be delivering them, here's how my hometown paper imposed its ignorance on its readership over Operation Fast and Furious. And what kind of skin in the game does Chaifetz have? You can contact him at the SHARK "press room" and find out!

That's some "objective reporting" there, Nadia! Good thing there are no other considerations...

Say, could it be the end goal is to ban ALL hunting, along with raising domesticated animals for any kind of food or other consumption or use? If so, they can count on NBC's KFOR "News" Channel 4 to amplify a one-sided agenda narrative!

The other thing we can and should do is look at Parker’s past, because his transformation into a gun law crusader was not so much a road to Damascus conversion as it was a direction he was already receptive to traveling in, albeit he never had the motivation before now to devote his life to the issue. Back in 2007, Parker ran for the Virginia House of Delegates as a Democrat. At the time, Virginia Citizens Defense League, the state’s premiere grassroots gun rights group, sent its political questionnaire to all candidates. Their tally sheet shows no responses to the questions next to his listed name, which, per VCDL, “frequently indicates indifference, if not outright hostility, toward the right to keep and bear arms.” [More]

Who thinks you can blow off 20% in a winner-take-all contest and still prevail? [More]

If I headed an organization that feared public perception in terms of losses my competitors would use against me, I'd recognize an instant advantage and act on it. Especially if it had everything to do with that "single issue."

The Ds are locked in. There's really no rational reason for the Rs to continue being stupid, unless that's part of a greater plan.

Antis Would Rather Foster Children Be Neglected or Killed than Live in Home with Guns

At least they won’t need to worry about living
under the same roof as law-abiding gun owners
This appears to be yet another in a never-ending list of examples demonstrating that for “progressives,” every day is Opposite Day. The whole object of child protective services is to protect children, and of family services to serve families. In this case, the tax-feeding bureaucrats would clearly rather see children killed than protected by foster parents with a gun, and they’d rather see children institutionalized in state facilities than have the opportunity to live in a nurturing home environment. Brain Power

Brilliant brains wrote the Second Amendment. It resulted from a theory of freedom, conditioned in their prefrontal cortexes, by the ideals of a recently reformed and modernized religion conversing with the limbic memory of death from Redcoat rifles. Those intracranial conversations between justice and fear resulted in an unbridgeable right to bear arms. [More]

I spoke with him this morning. He is focused on his purpose and his tasks.

That says much about his character and his courage. I can't say for sure if I'd be doing anything but jumping between denial, rage, feeling sorry for myself, and grasping at straws. As such, this is yet another reminder of the proper conduct of men his example is reinforcing.

I let my friend know he occupies a special place in my prayers.
