Politicians’ views on guns reflect constituent ignorance and apathy—then and now
One might ask where the hell gun owners were when these swindlers were out there hawking their political snake oil in the hopes that enough rubes would swallow it to give them political power. And the answer is, for the most part, asleep at the wheel. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at the past, present and future. Plus you can download a 50-year-old issue of GUNS Magazine--for free.

Mike Makes the Timeline
Several times! [Read]
No such luck for me, despite some promising signs. Guess I'd better try harder.
Jeez, what's a feller have to do to get branded a "hater" by these commie bedwetters?

Vanderboegh reports call between ATF’s Newell and ‘Wide Receiver’ CI
In another in a series of exclusives reported on the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog, online journalist Mike Vanderboegh has obtained a transcript and recording of a telephone conversation between “Operation Wide Receiver” confidential informant Mike Detty and then-Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Phoenix Field Division, William Newell, a central figure in the “Fast and Furious” government gunwalking scandal. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report says Dial "G" for Gunwalker. Includes exclusive audio.
A Proposed List
I'd love to see a Jay Leno-style street interview with random OWS participants, asking questions like:
- What specific changes did the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act make to the Glass–Steagall Act, and what was that about?
- As far as social justice goes, what kind of greedy capitalist pig exploiter of the masses needs $65M, and what do you think we should do to him if he doesn't give it back?
- Etc.
We're the Only Ones Nonspontaneous Enough
Fitzgerald explained that by banning weapons, no one would react spontaneously, in a violent manner, due to highly emotional issues and pull a gun. [More]Well, not quite "no one"...
Right, "Only One" Tyler...?
I wonder if Cheesehead Chris will assume a legal obligation to protect individuals in those "guns-for-me-but-not for-thee" zones he demands--and since he's making it personal, with attendant personal liability should he fail?
I kid.
This Day in History: November 18
In fact, Lt. Lodge was given a task of great import in November of 1779, when he assisted Nathanael Greene, then Quartermaster General, with selecting the site for the Army’s winter encampment. On November 18, Erskine wrote to Greene that he had sent Lodge to Morristown, and would soon follow. Later that month, Lodge reported to Greene from Bullion’s Tavern that he had surveyed a site between Basking Ridge and Capt. Dennis’ that Greene should come and inspect. [More]

Phase Two...?
We don’t know for sure why ATF and the Justice Department embarked on Fast and Furious. Officials are keeping mum. But no one has come up with a more plausible explanation than the charge that it was intended to make a case for gun control at home. [More]Well, they've tried...

Schumer threat to punish states relies on chronic and habitual lie
Yet by his own assertion, he is claiming awareness of 1.6 million violations of federal gun laws, where prohibited persons—presumably dangerous people—have attempted to purchase firearms... [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary exposes "a chronic and habitual LIAR!"
As Opposed to "Pay Back"?
The Spirit of Blue Foundation, along with Magpul, is asking consumers to 'get in the Spirit of Blue' this holiday season by purchasing the Spirit of Blue Wreath and giving back to the law enforcement community. [More]
Get into the spirit!
And they even acknowledge how military weapons of war that have only one purpose, to kill, are magically transformed into "patrol rifles."

Provided Gen. Greene may have occasion for any parties to assist in making the necessary arrangements for our winter quarters. You will be pleased to give orders for such a number from General Clinton and Hands brigades, as he may apply for. Or should General Greene find any advantage from these two Bri[2]gades moving to the ground which may be allotted for their quarters, you will give them instructions for this purpose. [More]

If You're Just Joining Us...
We had a breaking story last night--Mike's exclusive and my follow-up--that I posted about just after midnight. So it's missed a lot of notice, which it shouldn't, because it's important.
Go here. And spread the word.
Unless you think the media is doing just fine on Gunwalker reporting without our (that includes "your") meddling.
UPDATE: Anthony Martin weighs in.
